Our CEO, Duncan Haddrell, reflects on the last year and focuses on the new year ahead.
Nationally we know there has been steady growth in the construction sector and stagnation in retail. We, at International Tiles, have managed to increase our revenue in both sectors in excess of the national average.
The house building industry is expected to maintain growth throughout 2019. International Tiles expects to meet, if not exceed, the predicted quota levels. We have changed our approach to be in direct dialogue by assisting: architects; interior designers; and bespoke developers with their tile, stone and bathroom specifications.
Within the retail industry we are experiencing a radical change in customer behaviour. To meet these new demands we have invested in a new website with an online shop. The click to buy functionality enabling an excellent user experience. Looking forward to 2019 we are seeing this as being a popular platform for our sales and will be a key focus area.
While these trends are happening nationally, locally we are seeing the effect of the Hinkley investment on our Bridgwater operation. To fully benefit from the opportunities, we are moving to larger premises in a more accessible location. This store is continuing to grow and we anticipate this to increase next year.
Firstly, we have teamed up with an award winning interior designer to offer the ITB Studio. This is a creative hub providing comprehensive interior design services for residential and development projects in London and the South West of England. You can visit the website here >
We have introduced a new range of products to meet demand including stone, Karndean flooring and new manufacturers of porcelain tiles. Not only that but we have been in discussions with our existing suppliers to ensure Brexit has minimum impact on our European relationships. We continue to take advantage of our independence by approaching new manufacturers for new products to ensure we are on trend for all our customers.
Finally, we recognise the value and contribution of our team and without them our year would not have been as successful. We prove time and time again that we are the local experts. We will be looking forward to rising to the opportunities and challenges of 2019 together.
